davidweb David Barth

Executive Director  -  David graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Alberta in 1982 and completed his MBA from the same institution in 1989. David has taught business at the University of St. Martin and entrepreneurship programs at Conestoga College. He also operated his own business consultancy Future by Design and worked in contract programming for the University of Western Ontario.

David first worked at World Accord as a consultant in 1998 and joined the organization full time in April of 1999, bringing with him a wide scope of skills and abilities that were not previously available among World Accord staff. From the beginning of his tenure with World Accord David has gained a solid understanding of the development process and an appreciation for the many lasting accomplishments that international partners are able to achieve through partnership with World Accord.

 

nelson web Nelson Rosales

Program Officer - Nelson has worked in the fields of community development and education for twenty years.  He has lived and worked in Latin America, South-East Asia, the Caribbean and Canada.   Nelson holds degrees from the University of Toronto in Anthropology and International Development, as well as in Adult Education and Community Development. He has been an educator, researcher and activist in the areas of participatory democracy, community organizing, and civil society movements.

Nelson is responsible for liaising with World Accord’s partners overseas, bringing a perspective that integrates Canadian and international viewpoints. Nelson also acts as a bridge between World Accord’s partners and Canadians, interpreting the experiences and stories of our partners locally, and helping Canadians better understand their place as global citizens. Nelson emphasizes participatory, inclusive, and justice-based approaches in his work.  He is fluent in English and Spanish, and proficient in French.  Nelson was born in El Salvador and maintains ties to that part of the world, his second home.
   

deniseweb Denise Wamsley

Event & Communications Coordinator - A self described "Change Agent", with a background in journalism, Denise has been an avid story collector and story teller ever since she could talk.   Her own Chapters include volunteer work on myriad non-profit boards;  community advocacy;  NGO project development, such as the Social Purchasing Portal;  marketing, marketing, marketing;  creator of a Market Basket Measure (MBM) for Waterloo Region (adopted by most social service agencies);  writing, writing, writing; sponsorship and fundraising for non-profits and community services;  even CBC radio producer. She never stops talking. 

Well versed in all manners of communications, she’s an Event Designer who specializes in creating long running occasions and successful gatherings in the non profit arena.   She lives with her mate, one perfect daughter, two dogs, two cats and two parrots in Waterloo.

 

annweb Ann Meinzinger

Administrative Assistant - Ann came to World Accord in 1999 after many years of working in accounting management in Belleville. Ann lives in Kitchener where she also received her formal education.

Ann manages several portfolios of work at World Accord, including the accurate maintenance of all financial records, donor data, payables, payroll, banking and program funding records. Ann has also worked with World Accord’s partners in Central America, training program staff in financial management information systems.
