Interesting Rally in Nepal

This morning we received a You Tube clip link from our partner in Nepal. Incredible they way they are embracing technology to spread news of their works.  Something we at World Accord can - and will - take a lesson from.

The clip is of a bike rally to spread awareness and gather support for a commitment to end "armed" domestic violence in the country.  Shobha works for our partner SAP-Nepal in Kathmandu and is the woman that points out the issues in this video clip.

David Barth Appointed Executive Director

The World Accord Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of David Barth as Executive Director, effective July 24, 2009. David replaces Terry Fielder, who is retiring after 25 years of service as the Executive Director.

David’s appointment is the final step in a lengthy search process. The World Accord Board of Directors invested several hundred hours over a twelve month period: defining World Accord's needs and criteria; reviewing more than 60 applicants; interviewing candidates in Canada, Asia and Africa; assessing candidates against the needs and criteria; and finally making the decision.

David brings experience, skills and passion to this new leadership role in World Accord. His engineering and MBA degrees, his experience as a consultant, teacher, and entrepreneur all complement his ten years of working at World Accord. He has applied his organizational and financial skills in implementing effective systems for fund raising, donor management, and accounting, and has trained and worked with many of World Accord’s overseas program partners to improve their management and reporting systems.

Join the Board in congratulating David and pledge your continued support for World Accord and its mission under David's leadership.
