"Wake Up" to Some Inconvenient Truths at Fastathon 2007 where we will be fasting and learning about the life support systems on spaceship earth and how we can play our part in making sure the ship will support human life in the long term. On spaceship earth there are no emergency exits or escape pods - so we have to maintain the earth's ecosystems.

World Accord has been approved for FOUR internships this year.
Two are in Guatemala working with Mujeres en Accion (MeA) as a Capacity Building Officer or an Expansion Capacity Building Officer, while the other two are in Honduras working with Proyecto Aldea Global (PAG) as an Agricultural Processing and Marketing Intern or as an HIV/AIDS Education Intern. (See the
job descriptions and qualifications).
An internship is a great way to expand your knowledge and awareness through hands-on, real-world experience in a developing country.

Pounding the Pavement for Poverty
Erin Shaw, a long time volunteer of World Accord and former Intern, will running in the Mississauga Marathon on May 13, 2007 (
http://www.mississaugamarathon.com/). Erin will be running the half Marathon to raise funds for World Accord and her goal is $100 per KM for a total of $2100!! The event will require great dedication and endurance from Erin.
Dedication and endurance are also needed in the marathon fight to eradicate poverty. With your continued support World Accord, along with friends like Erin, will continue to carry the torch until poverty is a word of the past.
