Extreme Home Makeover, Honduras Edition WINNER!!
December 4th, 2006, at approximately 10:00 AM several Volunteers took a break from stuffing of envelopes to make the draw for the first trip to Honduras in the "Homes for Health" campaign.
Dave Snell of Kitchener Community of Christ Congregation was drawn from approximately 238 entries. Dave will be able to accompany World Accord Staff on a Discovery Expedition to Honduras to see the homes that are being built to stamp out Chagas Disease. Dave will have the opportunity to go himself or choose someone to go in his place.
Congratulations Dave!! Thank you to all who have and are supporting the Homes for Health campaign. Our next draw will be in late December or Early January!
World Accord Staff
Goals Surpassed for Extreme Home Makeover -Honduras Edition!

What an incredible show of support all of World Accord's donors. We presented a challenge and an opportunity to make a real difference and all of you rose to the occasion and then some! PRR (Rural Reconstruction Program in Honduras) asked World Accord for help raising money for 210 of the 350 homes CIDA is funding through the UNDP... Homes that will be healthy living quarters for about 1500 people and help stamp out chagas disease. We presented that number to you and you ran with it (quite quickly too) and as of November 29th we had pledges for 228 homes! Yes we have exceeded our goal!! Now we have the enviable job of being able to go to PRR staff and ask if they would like help building the rest of the 350 homes! That will make a difference to nearly 2500 people!
If you have pledged money towards this project and would like to send the funds right away, feel free to do so! Funds sent before the end of December will be issued a tax receipt for this year. If you are waiting until the new year, we request that funds be sent to arrive by the beginning of February.
A huge THANK YOU!!! Thank you for your support in this project as well as all the others World Accord is committed to. This will truly be a wonderful Christmas for many families in Honduras!
