Application for HIV/AIDS Education in Honduras

World Accord has just submitted an application for funding to the Candian Society for International Health (CSIH). This proposal will, if approved, fund a project with Proyecto Aldea Global (Project Global Village) in Honduras.

Over 60% of all the known cases of HIV and AIDS in Central America are in Honduras and education is desperately needed to stop the spread of the disease. This project aims to offer support oto the families already affected by HIV/AIDS as well as provide eduction on how the disease is spread. In most cases, people aren't even aware of it, let alone know how it's spread. In addition to these two components this project also provides micro-credit (small business loans) to help the families affected, provide an income to support themselves while they deal with all the issues (health and stigmas) that accompany the disease.

If approved this application will grant World Accord $100,000 over two years.
